pcntf - most isps must cash up to the tune of several hundred million to be competitive; look at psinet, uunet, mindspring, earthlink and that's quite the norm asia looks poised to grow but i think the entrenched telecom players hold the upper hand for several reasons: existing network ownership; 2) government ties; 3) cash also, asia is a diverse region with lots of boundaries to cross and hurdles to overcome to be a large pan-asia isp
