Interesting read: My Hits Galore experience.... As several of you know from last week's posts, I am a Hits Galore customer. I bought both a keyword and a banner sponsorship. But before I go any further, let me state my position. I bought almost a year ago, was on board for the reverse split, road it to 19 7/8 and sold to take profits. I didn't know that fraud was lurking that same day and feel very fortunate to have gotten out when I did. Chalk it up to dumb luck. I have held no position in the stock since that time, long or short. Nor do I intend to. This post is PURELY for discussion of my experience. With that said... I am still not completely certain how the banner sponsorship works. From my understanding, the idea is to pay $99, get lifetime banners, and then attempt to get up to 200 others to do the same thing. Basically, we sponsored 200 banners, which I understood to be 200 leads which Hits Galore would translate into sales. I was told on the phone that they converted something like 75% of their leads. Now, I didn't buy that number, but even if it was 20%, it would be a profitable venture for us, at $25 commission per sale. For our $99 investment, we'd come out ahead. Up until last week, I was led to believe that we were making sales and receiving clicks to our site. Boy, was I wrong. I just checked my stats. We have sponsored 200 banners and earned $0 in commissions. Zip. Zilch. Nada. A big hefty donut. No lie. Needless to say, I believe I was "misled" in my dealings with Hits Galore. I do not believe they did what they said they would, and I am out $99. Not a big deal really, but I no longer have confidence in this portion of their business model. Now on to the next portion, the keyword service. I have purchased keywords on GoTo.com for several months, and have been very pleased with the results. I figured that HITT's model was similar and would bring my site cheap clicks. At .01 a click, I'll pay all day long to bring people in. I purchased the keyword "family". With GoTo.com, you pay your deposit, $100 for example, and you are allowed to select as many keywords as you want, all clicks being debited from your original deposit. When I first signed with HITT, I should have seen the writing on the wall. They only allowed me to purchase ONE keyword for my deposit of $99. Each additional keyword would require another $99 deposit. At that time, I was frustrated with their approach, but went through with it just the same. I signed on about 2 months ago. Our site comes up as the 4th ranked site when someone types in the keyword "family". (Go ahead, try it) I just checked my stats for the first time and was incredibly disappointed to see that our site has received only FOUR CLICKS since we started! I have deposited $99 and have received .04 (that's four cents) worth of business from my keyword. At this rate, we will still have money in our deposit in the year 2005, or longer. This leads me to sincerely question the amount of traffic Hits Galore is receiving. In conclusion, I intend to call Hits Galore and ask for a total refund for all services. I really don't care about the money. It's the principle of the thing. I am not here to bash the company, but to express my disappoint with their products. I will honestly answer any questions you might have. Sincerely, Mayor
