I didn't read that article, but I think they've borrowed money and bought back stock; that boosts EPS at the expense of the strength of the balance sheet. Probably a more appropriate forum would be the IBM thread; in fact, I think it's been discussed there already.

FWIW, I bought IBM at a split-adjusted 20 +/- and sold it around 105, trying to not be greedy (and concluding that their growth was too slow); it now looks like I should have kept it. Still, a quintuple isn't bad.

JMHO, of course.
