Henry, <<How will you know>> You never know until demonstrated, even some very large companies cook books. I tend to believe until I have proof otherwise, the optimism of a long. To wait until valued based on earnings, cash flow, or book value, those stocks only appreciate 30% a year. I want my spec stock portfolio (gambling) to show multiples, that takes lots of faith. IMO trust until proven wrong.
