SAP can be cheap if you do a TRUE ASAP implementation. In this case, the company basically just takes it out of the box, installs it , and then molds their business process to adhere to SAP best practices. This method can be very successful and cost effective, especially for fast growing businesses that have many inherited systems and never really developed their own processes anyway. It can really provide direction and standardization to those types of firms. The software is sold thru re-sellers to the smaller companies and there are a growing number of consultancies doing fixed bid or reasonably priced jobs, GLAD I am not one of them. HA HA .
