This has got to be big news for GERN and ASTM. They hold many related patents. Just a matter of time :)
WASHINGTON, (UPI) - University of Pittsburgh researchers have
derived fully functional liver cells from adult bone marrow, fueling
hope that liver transplants may some day be obsolete. The scientists say this is the first evidence that stem cells from adult bone marrow can provide a lineage for cells that make up solid organs like the liver. The report appears in (Friday's issue of) the journal Science.
