Senate concludes investigation into BC's operations

São Paulo, 14 - The Senate's financial system inquiry committee decided
Thursday to conclude investigations into the Central Bank's operation
aimed at rescuing Marka and FonteCindam banks, in a secret meeting held
after Salvatore Cacciola's testimony.
The next step of the senators is to send to the Federal Board of
Attorneys a report requesting compensation for losses of R$ 1.567bn
caused by the operation and the extrajudicial liquidation of both
institutions.

The committee will also request the Justice system to track Cacciola's
accounts abroad, as well as those of former Central Bank president
Francisco Lopes and his partner's, Sérgio Luiz Bragança. (O Estado de S.
