THQ Inc. To Buy Calif. Game Devt Co. For 490,000 Shrs>THQI

LOS ANGELES (Dow Jones)--THQ Inc. (THQI) plans to purchase Pacific Coast Power & Light Co., San Jose, for 490,000 shares.

THQ shares recently traded at 26 11/16, down 7/8, or 3.2% from the previous close, valuing the agreement at about $13.1 million.

In a press release Friday, THQ said the transaction also includes employee stock options that can be exercised for up to 130,000 additional shares.

THQ said it expects to close the transaction in May.

Pacific Coast Power develops high-technology games for next-generation consoles.

THQ publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software.

Todd, What kind of revenue, units, profits, etc... for GBC. The new deals total 12 games on the way, (not including MTV, rodeo and Carmichael.

490,000 shares @25 = $12M. That's a 25% premium over gamefx. Trager is an icon. They were already doing our ERTS/N64 development and have other development revenues so the actual cost is lower.
