Christine -

It seems so simple - and important - to me. News flash: we're all going to have to patch our Microsoft software. Win 95, Win 98, Explorer, NT..... Why isn't anyone saying this out loud?

Plus... SECOND NEWS FLASH... please to remember that MightySoft does NOT, repeat NOT make business applications. They make tools like operating systems, databases, spreadsheets, compilers, wordprocessors.

Business APPLICATIONS like accounting & inventory & order processing, etc. are written by others on top of the MightySoft layers.

True fact! A software directory (just desktop for Mac, Unix, Commodore, WinTel, Tandy, etc.) lists 3056 vendors and 21,000 applications. And then I wonder how many totally custom applications (either never commercial or offically dead) there are in languaes like xBase, Paradox, Revelation, & I assume dozens of other database/file engines.

I've always marveled at how while the Y2K debate for mainframes seemed to recognized serious complexity & many layers, in PCland the debate has never moved past the stupid clock & the operating system. Like applications & data on a PC are different than on a mainframe? I don't think so.
