Unfortunately, I'm neither long IBM nor short MMM.

I was stopped out of IBM at 208 and positively in awe of the upturn. Too stunned to buy it back.

Shorting is almost always an intellectual exercise for me. It's too much of a hassle to speak with a broker. The last time I did that, I swear, he sounded like he didn't know what "shorting" is. That was weird, because Fidelity is good about most things.

Another time they didn't have either stock I wanted to short.

It just seems like too much of a hassle.
