Jim-

Would love to see a late day rally, but this last hour and a half will be thinly traded. Lots of senior traders are already at the beach. It is a Friday afternoon, and given the nervousness in the market, many people will not want to go long into the weekend. Though smart managers may step in here to pick up some DELL pre-earnings at reduced prices thinking the weekend will bring some calmness to the market. I think one of two things will happen in the last 45 minutes, a selloff to new daily lows or a rally to establish a new high for the day. I have no idea which way it will go, but I bet the directional move will be significant. Pray that it is up.

The interest rate rise worries me. I am waiting until Monday morning. Mondays can be a very dangerous day. Most of your big sell-offs occur on Monday. The market is high, we are due for a correction. Interest rates have driven up the market, they can surely bring it down. Also tech stocks are usually weak this time of year and Y2K will start to worry investors in the next quarter. If you are looking long term I would wait a while. If you are looking to play the earnings, I would wait until Monday. These high PE tech stock will get hit.
