>I wish there were more people like soup out there. How often do you find someone who's so knowledgeable about the Mac AND could sell a blood popsicle to a woman wearing white gloves?<

knowledgeable ...?

>I've often thought about taking a part-time night gig selling Macs at someplace like Best Buy or Sears. I wonder what it would be like to be out on the front lines ... <

It depends a lot on the setup. No one at Tekserve works on commission. I was told the first day that we were, first and foremost, a service center and I that I was never going to be graded on how many cpus I sold. (Not that the boss *minds* when I move a bunch ...)

My sense of the chains is that the salespeople make more selling house warranties and financing plans than on the cpus themselves.

If you're considering taking a job, try to find an organization you respect.
