<AMD now supply now exceed OEM demand.> Considering how AMD is only going to make "hundreds of thousands" of K6-IIIs in Q2 (probably 500,000), and considering how only a small fraction of that is 450 MHz, it's interesting to note that supply has exceeded demand. That means demand was pretty non-existent in the first place. Of course, AMD is hoping to increase demand by charging low prices for the K6-III. The good news, however, is that even at prices above $200, ASP can go up somewhat. The bad news is that AMD is capacity-constrained, and because of the K6-III's larger die size and lower yields relative to the K6-2, that K6-III better sell for at least two to three times the price of a K6-2.
