No, it's not. You will not likely be able to fit Linux in a handheld at this time. Think of Linux in terms of Windows....neither are small enough in terms of what we have been discussing for a portable device. In fact Linux wouldn't fit on an entire 64mb Rio device, let alone space to store the music. Both Linux and Windows have been used in car MP3 devices. Why, you ask? Well, they aren't really simply MP3 devices. They are computers attached to the sound system in a car with some software to control selection of music. If you really wanted, you could wire up a monitor and play games in your car off of some of these devices. The devices we're talking about are not full blown computers. Chris
