Duma will not get rid of Yeltsin. According to Russian constitution,
that I doubt if some members of Duma have ever read, then there the
impeachment has to go to three committees and finally to the Supreme Cour, where all judges are hand-picked by Yetlsin.
He can be impeached but not removed.

The danger is not the impeachment, the danger is the civil war! Do you
realize what that signifies?

Neocon,

The Duma is only impeaching Yeltsin... :0)

There's a huge bureaucratic mechanism they have to go through just like we did with our "leader".

russiatoday.com

He will face impeachment proceedings if he loses on even one count. Seleznyov predicted the Chechnya charge would muster the 300 votes needed in the 450-member Duma to start the procedure.

"My prediction is that on the third item we'll get not less than 312 votes," Seleznyov told a news conference, adding that Kremlin aides were trying behind the scenes to persuade undecided deputies not to betray the president.

Even so, there is little chance of Yeltsin being ousted in a long and complex procedure in which Russia's top two courts and the upper house would also have to vote against him

Their impeachment process is even more convoluted than ours.

Ron
