Matt- I'm just a newcomer but at least give management credit
for landing a whale of a backer for their set top technology.
Also for combining it with DSL. I just picked this up re-reading
the May 4th release:

Their DSL technology will make a great addition to our set-top box product line," said Rob van Oostenbrugge, managing director of Philips Business Electronics.

According to this report DSL should be more popular than satellite.

Market research firm Jupiter Communications says satellite market share will always pale in comparison to access via cable or digital subscriber lines (DSL). It predicts that by 2002, 12 percent of all online households will have cable modem access, 6 percent will have DSL, and only 1 percent to 2 percent will use satellite.
