There are Russian "volunteers" flowing into Yugoslavia and many are probably ex-Spenatz.

Ooooohhh... aaaaahhh.. I'm frightened now. Maybe they can get together and have "spade" throwing contests, in between cluster and bombs and napalm attacks on their positions.

Btw, don't you believe we have our SpecOps (SF,SAS..etc) operating in Kosovo proper as well?? I'll lay you odds we do.

No, this ain't Saudia Arabia. But then again, this isn't WWII Yugoslavia either. Read the history and you will discover that the Nazi's invaded and conquered Belgrade within days because they have such great tank country up north.

It was the mountainous regions that gave the Nazis such troubles and provided the base of operations for the various partisan groups that existed. Unfortunately for Serbia, most of those regions are currently occupied by their enemies.

So if we were forced to invade, god forbid, the best avenue of approach is from Hungary while the south performed a holding and blocking action in Kosovo.

Btw, they didn't have those GPS guided bombs in Saudi. There are lots of differences between the two geographies, but once forces can operate in combined arms teams, I suggest they will prove very formitable.

The key will be holding the territory and preventing guerilla attacks. Hopefully, an international force will prevent that from becoming a major issue. But it's an unknown.

Regards,

Ron
