Max - SFE - I think they are a great company. A venture capital firm with an excellent track record, they anticipate that they will have six IPO's this year and they have stated that they would attempt to give a portion of the IPO shares to shareholders of SFE.

It may pull back more, its been jumping between about $70 and $95 recently. It is off its high of $120, but well above the $40 or so it saw at the beginning of the year. They retain an interest in every co they spin off and their shares sometimes move in reaction to an event occurring at one of their holdings (I believe it was a jump in SCAI that might have run SFE up to 120). Also the stock will likely run up and back as IPOs approach and then are completed. So it can be good short term and long (at least it has been for me).
