I'm pretty sure that was his first album with "Loan Me A Dime". And "I'll Be Long Gone" is one of those songs I never get tired of hearing.
The Tom Waits CD's I picked up were "Closing Time" and "Foreign Affairs". That's about when I stopped listening to him, though I did pick up "Frank's Wild Years" when it came out. He used to play a club in DC in the mid-70's; I first saw him as an opening act (I had never heard of him before) on Halloween night, 1974, which somehow made "Ballad of Phantom 309" an especially interesting tune. Those were the days - 15 bucks would get you a cover charge, three drinks, and about three hours of listening to Tom Waits at a table 20 feet from the stage. He was second only to Steve Goodman as a great entertainer with his stage presence.

An OT from another thread, consisting of terrible titles
for country songs:

Message 9598382

Of course, many real country song titles are equally campy,
like If I Said you Had a Beautiful Body, Would
You Hold It Against Me?
