Xerox Corp. (XRX): The world's biggest copier maker and
Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) will announce Tuesday that the No. 1
software maker's programs are compatible with Xerox's machines
and systems. Xerox Chief Executive Richard Thoman said last month
that companies would reveal they are ''combining our technologies
and expertise.'' A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday at
Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center, or PARC. Xerox fell 2 13/16 to
58 5/8. Microsoft fell 2 1/4 to 76 7/8.
