scott, thanks for posting that report from Montgomery, man we needed something to hang on to till Tuesday to neutralise the Paine-guy.

Based on their earnings projections the Forward PE for DELL for the year 00 and 01 look extremely attractive at these price levels. A P/E of 55 for 00 and a P/E of 41 for 01 do not indicate overvaluation,'Pain in the Ass-et's' prognostication notwithstanding.

scott,GREAT report...

Contacts have become very tight-lipped since last quarter's leaking of results but our sense from the marketplace is that the company succeeded in using pricing to accelerate top line growth from last quarter's 38% y/y level. Our relatively aggressive revenue forecast is $5.5 Billion, up 42% from last year's $3.9 Billion. The Street will likely take top line growth in the low 40's or above as a positive. We assume units grow 58% and that ASPs decline 10% y/y and 5% sequentially. We could see quite a bit of variance around our unit and ASP assumptions but view overall revenue growth as the overriding issue.

MD already stated we are seeing sequential growth this quarter unlike others in the industry. We did 5.3 billion last quarter,so I think 5.5 is a lock!

Here is my take. That Paine Webber nobody was sitting around getting tanked Friday afternoon at a bar in the Hamptons, shootin' the sh** about stocks with his fat buddies. Then he had an idea, my clients are short as hell in DELL computer and I do not know how we are going to get out of this mess. Oh, what the hell, I'm a nobody anyway. GIve me the phone and lets downgrade on say . . .uh . .uh.. VALUATION. That's the ticket. Well Dan, got any data to support it. Naw, who needs data, just downgrade the G** D*** stock like I told you to on VALUATION. Then call our clients and tell them we can get them covered in the low 40s before Wednesday. That's the best I can do, because I am, and will always be, a nobody.

Now NBMontgomery, that's a substantive document with some meat in it.

WHich one are you going to believe. remember folks, Niles HAD DATA.
