I think they would have warned as well. In fact, I stayed short a long time waiting for that to happen.

For those Who may Wonder about DELL this Quarter.....Read this Carefully...

Message 9539405

<<We expect 42% revenue growth, which is relatively optimistic -- We expect DELL to meet or slightly beat our consensus EPS estimate of $0.16, up 45% from last year's $0.11. Contacts have become very tight-lipped since last quarter's leaking of results but our sense from the marketplace is that the company succeeded in using pricing to accelerate top line growth from last quarter's 38% y/y level. Our relatively aggressive revenue forecast is $5.5 Billion, up 42% from last year's $3.9 Billion. The Street will likely take top line growth in the low 40's or above as a positive. We assume units grow 58% and that ASPs decline 10% y/y and 5% sequentially. We could see quite a bit of variance around our unit and ASP assumptions but view overall revenue growth as the overriding issue.>> -- Montgomery Securities

DELL will DELIVER. I am going on record tonight. NationsBank Montgomery agrees with me. IMO, they have quite conservative estimates. I could see DELL beating the .16 EPS estimate by 2-3 cents and delivering y/y sales growth over 45%.

Don't bet against MSD.

Best Regards,

Scott

SB,..Re:.Of course, they failed to pre-announce the revenue shortfall for the last quarter. So, one can never be sure how these things will turn out.

Sometimes it's not apparent there will be a shortfall until the quarter has actually ended. Also, sometimes the quarter ending corresponds with the beginning of the quiet period.

If they don't deliver this quarter, I think its time to consider a class action lawsuit.

Litigation should be only a solution when deceit is involved and preferably used only if absolutely conclusive evidence found.

JMHO,

Lee

Stock Bull, why should Dell have pre-released a revenue shortfall, if they knew they would beat the bottom line estimates????? Isn't the bottom line the most important thing? Would you have preferred a better top line and have then miss the bottom line? You are beginning to sound like an anal-yst.

:o)
