rrman, Are you high?? We don't pay our dues? There are so many off the book expenses that the UN has NEVER reimbursed the US for, like military transportation and relief operation. We provide that service Gratis. As for the UN being toothless, I suggest you look at the voting records of the permanent security members, China and Russia. We, in our foolish hope for political inclusiveness provided nations that oppose freedom and human rights for all the right to veto any policy that didn't meet their own interests. The US sacrificed what could have been its global dominance in the post-WWII environment in the cause of trying to include EVERYONE in mapping out the future of the world. Why would we do that if we were bent upon colonizing and dominating the entire world solely to serve America's interests?? You have a strange sense of history. Btw, the only reason the Korean conflict was a UN operation was because Bejing and Moscow chose to abstain, rather than veto that operation. They've never repeated that mistake. Regards, Ron
