How much we can trust on this round of taking-over rumors? Dose LU can digest both ASND and COMS together? Is ERICY able to afford to buy COMS with so many its own unsolved problems? Neither of them looks like the real acquirer. NOK.A may be a one to interest in the Palms and INTC may the one with deep pockets to pay the prices. Anyone gets an idea for another acquirer?

On the data networking front, shares of 3Com (Nasdaq:COMS) were up
7.29% (up 1 15/16) to 28 1/2 on speculation that the company may be
purchased by either Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) or Ericsson (Nasdaq:ERICY). Lucent was off 2 9/16 to 58 7/16; Ericsson was off 1 3/16 to 26 7/8. 3Com's competitor Cisco Systems (Nasdaq:CSCO) fell 2 1/4 to 115 7/16.
