this market stinks. What a market to learn how to trade in <g>

This thread probably saved me from losing money. Maybe soon I can start making money. What an education! Thanks to all contributors!

jc, You're certainly not the only one!

It almost entertains me. Both Buffett's mentor, BG, and John Bogle presented some interesting data in their books that there was, over the long term, no relationship between interest rates and stock appreciation. However, maybe the old rules, that all would like to invoke, no longer apply.

J6P didn't sell today because most of them didn't hear, and some of them still haven't heard, that anything happened. A few of them, if they open the envelopes, might learn about it at end of the month or quarter. It's the short-term money that creates all these little ripples.

Let me clearly state again that I do not believe that major market up moves occur when the OEX is some one hundred points away from the the 50 week moving average. However, the market resolves this issue in two ways: 1) a sell-off, or 2) an intermediate trading range.

I hate to go into a preaching mode, but folks really need to look up the definition of inflation. It really has nothing to do with short-term changes in the CPI. What a joke!

The market is reasonably nervous. We have an administration that has attacked MSFT, INTC, AMR, and the drug industry (without getting into the practical issues involved). The financials have had one hell of a run since the October lows just to get back in their trading channels, and always get jittery near FOM dates. One of the tech superstars, DELL, will probably release its earnings about the same time.

No, it's all reasonable and natural, and, for better or worse, I'm looong going into next week! Good trading to all!
