Tae, a "cross-over" is (by my theories), when the short term moving average "crosses" above the long term moving average. This usually gives an indication that the stock is due for an increase in price. On the flip side, when the opposite occurs (short term avg crossing under the long term avg), it usually indicates that the stock is due for a decline in price. There is no real timetable for when the stock goes up or down, but by my experience it can be anywhere from 1-90 days. On average I would say that no longer than 15 days from most that I have seen. I also use the MACD and Bollinger Bands as guidelines. Now, for example, go look at PARA's chart. It crossed over on 1/26/99, the Bollinger Bands were very tight and the MACD was strengthening. 7 days later it broke out and ran to 8 7/8. Hey, get this, William brought up BMRA recently, right? Well, guess what? It was a cross-over back in mid-March and I remember seeing that stock on my list. Too bad that I was too busy to buy. I would have had to wait a couple of months, but that would have been a sweet buy at 1 1/2. Oh well, can't get them all, can we?
