But OEMs have shown a willingness to pay extra for better DRAM performance, the Toshiba spokesman said. "If Toshiba can offer, say, $25 for the [128-Mbit] volume price, it's very competitive," he said. "Rambus is still much more costly than synchronous; however, the speed is better, and many PC vendors really want to have Rambus DRAM now."
