Hi DellFan, thanks for the thoughtful response. My thoughts on Dell acquiring a service component were as I said off the top of my head, I guess triggered by the idea of Dell asking for authority to issue more shares. I wasn't particularly advocating they they would pick up a service component, rather that they might be thinking acquisition of some sort rather than split.

I agree, they might go shopping for other hardware/software components as the world moves inexorably toward small more mobile connections to the web. I'm not a believer in the end of the PC era, IMO we are moving to a PC centric world where the PC serves a different purpose, working as a central server, enhanced by multiple devices. Aloha.
