Do you have a source for that quote from Moore? How recent was it? And on another topic, IBM has been testing a mobile database for months and is even working on a tiny 50K database for PalmPilots and other small devices. Does anybody know if anything from qcom is included in "other small devices". Mobile databases are emerging heavily in virtual warehousing for internet distribution companies (which is every internet company that sells anything - mobile databases let us drop ship from factory to customer eliminating middle storage/shipping costs). nytimes.com
