Uncle and Blake... It is very interesting to read the posts today. All the technical news remains very good....Toshiba takes the next step in reducing the cost of RDRAM - while the commentators note that OEMs are hungry for the product now, regardless of cost disparity. Imagine the demand when both production bottlenecks and further new innovations bring the cost down another 10-15%. Of course, this will happen...it is inevitable. Everyone is scurrying to figure out how to produce the highest quality, smallest die, fastest running product. Market share will follow for the winners. Great to see. On the other side of the coin is the observations that, with the exception of UncleWest,(unpaid PR director) Rambus continues to present a front to the world which is, to say the least,understated. I know all about the caution required of senior management, but contrast Rambus announcements and guidance to that of LSI logic management. They are tooting the horn big time and their story is certainly no more compelling than Rambus'. I am not saying that Rambus should be pounding its collective chest, but we are getting very close to the time when it will be important for management to step up and "close the deal" with the Street and investors. How they will do this I do not know, but I hope they will do so strongly and effectively when the time is right. Some would say that the time already here. Thoughts?
