what makes you think cash is worth anything?
you should be stashing batteries and canned goods and can openers...and candles...cash is worthless in a barter society... worthless.
.I don't know what cash is anymore, it's printed like confetti and even tho they keep lying to me about "no inflation" the prices of everything have been skyrocketing here. I still have $1.70 gas at the corner.
The feds just plan to print cash at the end of the year...tons and tons of cash...to mitigate a run on the banks for cash. Just what we need...more government cash-printing operations.
Risk does not universally translate into higher interest rates...you already saw what happened last fall, when everybody ran to 30-year treasuries and drove rates down. And higher rates do not necessarily crush equities in a hyperinflation.
So you might want to think about a future where everything costs more and the interest rate you get on your cash goes to 1 or 2%. It's a very likely outcome.
