gc, see my profile for my portfolio. certainly, aol is less volatile than most of my other stocks. i am a buy and hold inet investor. tax consequences prevent me from selling. given my cost basis on these fab investment opportunities, i really don't care how much they go down. i'm not selling and i don't have to. nevertheless, when one has seen the value of one's portfolio decline 40% in a month and it looks poised to decline further, it is sobering. i experienced the same feeling in Aug 1998. fortunately i am in a considerably better financial position than i was then, given these stocks' fabulous performance. bottom line is these stocks are volatile, period. but that doesn't mean that we all don't still experience the emotional ups and downs that go with that. rob
