Five!...Anyway, the local marina fees are quite steep, and even the developments with water access frequently have long waiting lists. My father had a cruiser for a long time out at Kent Narrows, on the Eastern Shore, about 30 minutes from downtown Annapolis (he was near D.C. at the time). One of the things I discovered was a marina culture where people rarely took their boats out, because it was so much trouble and so expensive, but entertained while docked. If we went out, it would take several people to get it ready in less than an hour, and to clean up and batten down in 45 minutes. Sionce he moved to Annapolis, he got a smaller boat, and keeps it near his development, but it is so expensive to have it in town that he keeps it in a dry- dock space, instead of on the water, and it is a pain to have it hauled out for use. Most communities will not allow a boat on one's property, even on a trailer...
