Good post, Johnny. I would like to get a handle on RB's "software". I haven't read RB today, so the mystery might have been solved, but "software" seems to know much of what WE want to know, and he began posting LONG before the current flap.

Johnny I just saw your note. Thanks for the reply. I've printed it out and will review off line. We have a house full of 5-7 year olds this weekend so it is hard to get time on the computer. But I do value your opinion and am currently working hard at gearing my thinking toward the $$ value of plugging the hole... I still don't understand if the whole compression thing is solved. The word floating around is that it still takes 15 hours to compress a full length fractal video though decompression is in rea time... Has this changed or become a non issue? Dave
