Chat - Y2K Lies and Deceptions

Hi Cheryl,

Yes, I remember the Euro lies ... It is unbelievable the lies and deliberate attempts by politicians and government to mislead the people about Y2K's dangers, while they are digging shelters and organizing the military. One only has to read the Y2KNewswire site for a few weeks to see the contradictions.

You are preaching to the converted ... We have been busy preparing for what we think will be at least some fairly significant disruptions around Y2K, especially in rural areas which are always restored or remedied last.

Interestingly, by buying in bulk when things go on sale, Y2K preparations have cost us almost nothing beyond what we were spending before. Since we have purchased things that we normally eat, if nothing happens, we can just shop less in the first few months of 2000. The only other significant outlays have been for a generator and a newer woodstove, both of which we can justify for the fairly frequent power outages caused by winter storms in our rural area of Canada.

:-))
