Excellent analysis of the Cube/Divicom situation.

I might also add that third party IP in synthesizable RTL is also available for MPEG2 etc for companies to integrate on their own chips.

And IP vendors like Mentor Graphics are working on complete cable modem designs for licensing their RTL.
