Gary - "I am kind of in agreement with the article in that software is the key. Who would give up IOS from Cisco for something completely new especially we are talking about backbone here ? Too risky for the customers. It would be a tough battle for Intel." I agree that initially this will be a big concern for some applications. The concepts that are being talked about are in their nascency. However, I am intrigued with seemingly immense potential that true programmability would afford the ISP community to differentiate their services. If Intel can demonstrate a robust solution, this may be a go-go at some point. PB
