OT...Rabies. 1. I'm into trap/neuter/release feral cat program here in suburbs of DC in Virginia. For some reason, the raccoons come up and eat with us too. Skunks too. My cats like the little coons. Big ones are scary. 2. Rabies is hyped big-time in both VA and MD. Animal Control is going on shooting sprees as result. My condo complex just shot some raccoons. Total ignorance. 3. According to article I just read, only 1 human died from rabies in US last year, traced to bat bite. Since 1990, 27 deaths in US. 4. Rabies in raccoons is rampant. Bats only infect ea other, normally. Land animals are infecting domestic pets and other animals. 5. Annapolis is dropping oral vaccines out of helicopters onto the Annapolis Peninsula. Already, 50 % of raccoons tested afterwards had developed antibodies to rabies. Your idea of spreading oral vaccines on your raccoon food is GREAT. 6. NAVR. Been in and out so many times already. I stopped counting. Waiting for the big countdown to the IPO. Busy buying on the dips. Who can trust this company? Like playing in the traffic. Bless the day traders for they will make this stock pop, if it does. 7. Best of Luck to you with NAVR...and your critters.
