<<This is really beginning to feel like ASND did, when it was @ 22 early last year.>>

Oh, yeah! ASND was my home thread then. There was SOOO MUCH negativity then, but my DD on the GX-550 gave me confidence to buy and hold.

<<Let's sit back and enjoy the ride. I think our time has come.>>

Me too, but like with ASND it won't go straight up. There will be plenty of opportunity to trade cycles. I think we will see a lively day trading stock here too.

<<And we've got some of the best DD'ers on SI as members of the thread.>>

I'm planning on starting a discussion of Next generation Internet topology vs current, and how it affects Routers (including the current installed base) and the prospects for ARANEA.

However my train was brought to a stand still by a whole lot of "Honey Do" (Dew?) this weekend - the first nice weather weekend in a while.

I would like to share this interesting series of posts between Frank Coluccio and Gary (a CSCO employee) on the CSCO thread.

I had just PM'd Frank to ask for his participation on my upcoming discussion on current Internet vs Next Generation Internet and what it might mean for Routers - old and new.

Frank accepted, but he's very busy as am I (having just got called by work at 1:00 AM this morning on a production problem).

He PM'd me back asking if his CSCO posts were the reason I contacted him. It was not. I had not seen them. It was the Red Herring article that got me started.

I then read the CSCO thread exchange this morning, and I can see why Frank was curious. His thought process is very close to mine (but his is much more important as he is in the biz, while I am just watching and reading at this time).

If you (plural) are not too technical, you may want to read these comments closely - especially Frank's 18 months ago comment. I still see CSCO missing the boat on next generation (good!).

This is very bullish for MRVC, IMO.

For emphasis, just excerpting a couple of Frank's comments.

"Entire MANs and campus environments (CANs) are now being re-planned, re-mapped using the frameworks of new fiber optically supported architectures which are being used to embed user payloads directly onto glass . "

"Just some real world observations by someone with no ax to grind. I've done more than just a few price-performance and tradeoff analyses in this space. Eighteen months ago, I would have put the horizon for this stuff out about 5 years. Today? I'm seeing it unfold before my eyes."
