Looks like the "Reconquista" is meeting resistance from the "natives"

BUENOS AIRES, May 19 (Reuters) - Argentina's Lower Chamber of Congress passed a bill on Wednesday that could prevent a planned merger of Spanish energy group Repsol with Argentine oil company YPF in a $13.44 billion takeover bid.

The bill forces firms to seek authorization to merge and even envisages dissolution of companies for the sake of free competition, state-run news agency Telam said, adding the bill has now been sent to the Senate.

The ruling Peronist Party has a majority in the Senate and approval of the bill is expected there.
