Politics is about grand performances and taking anything that happens and using it to one's advantage. This will probably soften up some congressional undecideds (I don't know if that's an actual word) as has been pointed out previously. Hong Kong, May 17 (Bloomberg) -- China's chief trade negotiator said the country will keep pushing to open its market, though wouldn't sacrifice what she called ''fundamental rights'' to gain access to the World Trade Organization (that is, they want further concessions and the issue is fundamental rights). The comments (made) as the U.S. and China spar over conditions for China's entry to the WTO in the wake of the U.S.'s accidental bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. (which was also an issue of fundamental rights) Chinese are playing this out to their advantage as you would expect.
