Janice, for the unspecified securities best called "Units" umm...., then it must be something like that: Maybe the concept is similar to that one,sec.yahoo.com (10)INDONESIAN PARTICIPATING UNITS (IPUs) (continued) While the amount of the participation payments, which are treated as reductions from revenues, will vary from quarter to quarter depending upon the level of Net Cash Flow, payment of the amounts to the IPU holders is an obligation of the Company, not dependent upon the discretion of the partners of the Company. The rights of the IPU holders are those of a general creditor of the Company and thus the IPU holders have no equity interest in the Company in the nature of a general or limited partnership interest or otherwise. The IPU holders derive no economic benefit from the business activities of the Company, other than the Joint Venture. Each IPU entitles the holder to receive a quarterly participation payment equal to 1/14,077,747 of 32 percent of net positive cash flow until September 25, 1999, at which time the IPUs will expire with no residual value. Due to the expiration of the IPUs on September 25, 1999, there are only three remaining quarterly periods with respect to which holders of IPUs will be entitled to Participation Payments on the IPUs. The Indenture provides that the last quarterly period runs from July 1, 1999 through September 25, 1999, the expiration date of the IPU... That's it! "Something" like that must it be. That IPU concept bore the right to receive a positive cashflow from a joint venture, especially in the oil industry. Appearently it worked for UMR.. ---------------Um, doesn't Life Foundation, whatever they may be, actually have "production rights" to the properties in question? Well, if I want to trade something I must own it before, no? Ok, there have been cases in which something was traded which was not <actually> here, but just around the corner. ----------------Before you answer: remember, I was involved with the MTEI story from start to finish. As a shareholder?? Oh, how many shares? Did you receive the wallpaper? Is it nice? (Remember, I have carried home thousand certificates of an ancient domestic railroad company, whose rich pension fund was dissolved and distributed to the shareholders. I bought effective shares, received the consideration and now, from time to time, sell some certificates in auctions at $30 a piece. It was named "Danube-Save-Adriatic railroads, and the Italian state owned some 70% of the common shares). IS.com Edit Edit: Right on, Janice nice #grub !
