Around here, consumers spend big time! I thought Greenspan would raise rates, but maybe, he thinks world economic picture is too weak ~ look at Russia ~ if Yeltsin drops dead (finally) and the hardliners take control, we may be in another cold war scenario ~ at the drop of Yeltsin's vodka glass.

Anyway, you should do well with your puts!

Solid Growth and Low Inflation for US economy

"Outgoing Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin said that he expected the economy to experience low inflation and solid growth in coming months, but he warned that it was risky for the world to rely on the United States as the only engine of economy growth.
