THat's a relief.. I want to stay on your good side, warrior woman.

You know how ambivalent I am about religion. (Well- religion by the fifth definition in the OED or whatever) But our church seems a wonderful a place to be a member. There's a father in our choir with a Down Syndrome daughter and a woman with a very severely handicapped boy- I think it's CP. People talk to the kids and hug them and even if they're disruptive it's ok. And the other kids will take them out and play with them. The neat thing is that no one acts as if it's remarkable in any way. And it isn't-- they are just a part of the whole. Healthy and right. I think churches can play an important role in the lives of people with uncommon problems, giving them respite.
I just have trouble with the being saved part. TOday the sermon was on Being Reborn. And I have to blank out some. And then I feel bad. and dishonest.
