Robert,

>>>> Donald, I beg to differ. So far the U.S. has developed most components of the Internet and is the nation using the net to best advantage to revolutionize its economy and social structure. Where is Japan in all this? Or Taiwan? Or even Germany? <<<<

Just wait. A student from Bangladesh, was able to find some sort of solution to whatever that virus was.

Most consumer products are produced overseas(textiles/electronics/toys/etc). The INTERNET now makes it possible for foreign companies to sell here in the U.S. without dealing with the middle-man(department stores/importers/jobbers/etc). All they have to do is set up distribution centers here in the U.S. Im already aware of some startups in this area. American retailers will
have more competition in the future.

It has only been a few years since many are realising that the potential of the internet. I remember just about 2-3 years ago that
many doubted or did not have the forsight of the internet.

The auto industry was controlled by the U.S. but we all remember what happened in the 70's, and the U.S. was the king of the auto industry.

The U.S. most likely will always stay in the lead, but the competition will grow and grow alot faster than most think. Just be patient.
