Paul, Re: where at 500 MHz, the K7 should dissipate over 60 Watts - as per "intelligent estimates" !

I hope you are kidding.

Paul,

I would assume this will be at least 2.4 volts , where at 500 MHz, the K7 should dissipate over 60 Watts - as per "intelligent estimates" !

You are doing some serious reaching for FUD these days.

Paul,

Re: "Personally, I expect AMD to actually use 2.5 volts on their 550 or 600 MHz parts - which will be 100% burned in for Oxide Break Down - prior to shipments."

I agree with the 2.5V.

I suspect the 60W power assumption may be a tad high.

BTW does Intel not perform 100% burn-in to weed out infant mortality??

Regards,

Kash

Paul Re <<the K7 should dissipate over 60 Watts - as per "intelligent estimates" !>>

Even if true, there is nothing wrong with that. K7 is not intended for the mobile market. At least any time soon.

I would recommend everyone to bookmark this pearl of
Paul's wisdom. Thank you very much, Paul.
