I heard on the radio this morning that Fidelity was increasing their AOL stake. I am not sure if I heard it right.(I was half asleep). Can anyone confirm? It is my belief that this recent downturn is temporary. Even a 50 bp hike in interest rates will only slow the mkt down short-term. The "smart money" still piling in. I still feel that there is some shortterm downside.

reinstitutional ownership
When a stock is emerging and has little institutional ownership, it will not have healthy moves up without the institutions becoming interested in it and buying it.
However, when a stock is owned more than 65-70% by the institutions, it becomes a very volatile stock and dangerous in some ways because they do, as you mentioned, buy and sell together, causing huge fluctuations.
However, I would still buy and hold AOL. It is a great company, one of the companies of the future. But we will have volatility and we have to live with it if we want to succeed and profit.
