With the increasing size and decreasing cost of HDs for storage, the dropping of price of PCs, the dropping price of digital cameras, the ease of use, the no cost, immediate processing, and the mass coverage combined with increasing speed of the internet for picture transport, digital photography will be a boom town in its own right. That's a no brainer.
Let's hope EDIG is right in the thick of it.
