we wanted to do system-on-a-chip but not face Intel.

LSI Logic's CEO's way of putting competing with Intel is that it'll result in your getting your head handed to you. He ought to know, he goes back to Fairchild and Signetics. That's a pioneer.

That leaves Jerry - and $128 million quarterly losses - to fight "the good fight" against Intel !
