Infowave Wireless Messaging Inc - Infowave fifth most active conference Infowave Wireless Messaging Inc IWM Shares issued 15,305,655 1999-05-14 close $4.35 Monday May 17 1999 Week ended May 14th by Stockwatch business reporter Infowave was reviewed in Forum Watch last week. On May 10, the company announced that it had arranged a brokered private placement to be undertaken through Yorkton Securities Inc., Canaccord Capital Corp., Sprott Securities Ltd., and Taurus Capital Markets Ltd. The private placement will be for 2.6 million special warrants to be offered at $3.50 per special warrant. The gross proceeds of the offering, which is expected to close on or before May 28, will be $9.1-million. In the conference discussion, the drop from the recent 52-week high of $5.20 had Bookemdanno1 puzzled: "I own shares and have no intention of selling, I just can't seem to get a handle on what drives these prices. If this company was on the TSE it would be in the MCF range by now and not dropping the price on news of more money coming into the company coffers." Unclejavs was unperturbed by the trading activity: "This company is going to be a big time winner and be sure you're in there with it...Today it's doing exactly what you would expect it to do. TRADE up and down like any normal stock." He then offered a price prediction of $20 before the end of the year. Jenny, who seems to wander from conference to conference with one-line posts either denouncing a stock with a vague reference to what her broker said or predicting a fantastic future, and sometimes both, was given short shrift by a number of participants who invited her to back up her claims or move on. Infowave ended the week at $4.35. (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com old url (better for printing)
